Abstract

In regards to sales performance, non-iPad tablet devices did not quite live up to branded vendors' expectations mainly due to prematurity of operating systems for use in tablet devices, lack of software applications and of product differentiation. Branded vendors have been revising down their respective shipment targets originally set for tablet devices in 2011 as they are facing challenges to boost consumer demand for tablet devices in product features and price tags. Among the non-iPad tablet devices, with their price competitiveness, white-brand tablets are managed to create a different niche. This report profiles the current development of white-brand tablet devices and provides insight into future trends of the Chinese white-brand tablet industry and market.
